Folic Acid (Vitamin B9) Blood Test

The folic acid (vitamin B9) blood test is a laboratory test used to measure the level of this essential vitamin. Folic acid is important for the production of red blood cells, DNA synthesis, and the proper functioning of the nervous system. Preparation for the Investigation

1. It is recommended to perform the analysis in the morning on an empty stomach.
2. The day before the investigation, exclude: fatty and fried foods, alcohol, smoking, and stress.
3. You can take your prescribed medications as usual, but do not take over-the-counter medications without consulting your doctor first. In some cases, the doctor may suggest stopping certain medications before the blood test.
4. Performing blood tests after X-rays or physiotherapy procedures on the same day is not recommended.
5. Dynamic evaluation of a laboratory test should be performed at the same time of day as the previous test.
