Androflor Screen — Advanced Male Urogenital Microbiota Analysis
Androflor Screen is a comprehensive molecular test designed to provide a detailed evaluation of the male urogenital microbiota. The analysis identifies both beneficial and potentially pathogenic microorganisms, offering a complete overview of the microbiological balance.
This test is essential for the accurate diagnosis of urogenital infections, dysbiosis, and for establishing targeted and effective treatment.
What the analysis includes:
Normal (resident) microbiota:
Staphylococcus spp.
Streptococcus spp.
Corynebacterium spp.
Transient microflora:
Lactobacillus spp.
Opportunistic microorganisms (OPM) — opportunistic microflora associated with urogenital dysbiosis:
Gardnerella vaginalis
Ureaplasma urealyticum
Ureaplasma parvum
Mycoplasma hominis
Anaerobic microorganisms:
Atopobium cluster
Megasphaera spp. / Veillonella spp. / Dialister spp.
Sneathia spp. / Leptotrichia spp. / Fusobacterium spp.
Bacteroides spp. / Porphyromonas spp. / Prevotella spp.
Peptostreptococcus spp. / Parvimonas spp.
Anaerococcus spp.
Eubacterium spp.
Aerobic microorganisms:
Enterobacteriaceae spp. / Enterococcus spp.
Yeast-like fungi:
Candida spp.
Specific STI pathogens (bacterial and protozoal):
Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Chlamydia trachomatis
Mycoplasma genitalium
Trichomonas vaginalis
The test is recommended in the following situations:
urogenital symptoms (burning, discharge, discomfort)
acute or chronic prostatitis
male infertility
suspected sexually transmitted infections
urogenital microbiota imbalance
treatment monitoring
It is also recommended when routine tests are normal but symptoms persist.
Preparation for the Androflor Screen test
avoid sexual intercourse for 2–3 days before the test, including masturbation, as it may affect the microbial composition
do not urinate for 2–3 hours before sample collection, since the first portion of urine helps detect microorganisms
avoid applying local products (gels, creams, antiseptics) to the genital area for 1–2 days before testing
avoid antibiotics or antifungal treatments for approximately 2–3 weeks before the test, unless specifically advised by your doctor
perform intimate hygiene the day before, and avoid antibacterial products on the day of sample collection
Additionally:
it is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours before testing
if you have obvious symptoms (discharge, pain), inform your doctor before sample collection
sample collection is generally performed during the first part of the day
Following these recommendations helps prevent inconclusive results and reduces the need for repeat testing.
Results are available in approximately 5 business days.
