AST (Aspartate Aminotransferase) Test

The AST (Aspartate Aminotransferase) test is a blood test used to measure the level of this enzyme in the blood and to evaluate the health of the liver and other organs. AST is an enzyme primarily found in the liver, heart, muscles, and kidneys. AST levels can be an indicator of damage or disease in these organs.

Preparation for the Test:

  1. It is recommended to perform the test in the morning on an empty stomach.
  2. The day before the test, avoid fatty and fried foods, alcohol, smoking, and stress.
  3. Prescription medications can usually be taken as normal, but do not take over-the-counter medications without consulting your doctor beforehand. In some cases, your doctor may suggest stopping certain medications before the test.
  4. It is not recommended to perform blood tests after X-rays or physiotherapy procedures on the same day.
  5. Dynamic evaluation of a laboratory test should be performed at the same time of day as the previous test.

Results are released on the same day!
