Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) Analysis

The ACE test is a blood test used to measure the level of angiotensin-converting enzyme in the blood. ACE is an enzyme that plays an important role in the renin-angiotensin system, which regulates blood pressure and fluid balance in the body. This test is often used to help diagnose and monitor certain medical conditions, particularly sarcoidosis.

Preparation for the Test

  • It is recommended to perform the test in the morning on an empty stomach.
  • The day before the test, avoid fatty and fried foods, alcohol, smoking, and stress.
  • You may take your usual prescribed medications, but do not take over-the-counter medications without consulting your doctor first. In some cases, your doctor may suggest discontinuing certain medications before the test.
  • It is not recommended to have blood tests done on the same day as X-rays or physiotherapy procedures.
  • When monitoring a laboratory test over time, it should be performed at the same time of day as the previous test.

* The analysis is performed in Germany. The result is released within 7 working days after shipment. For more details, please discuss with the Call Center/Reception Operator.
