Glucose in serum

Serum glucose analysis is essential for evaluating carbohydrate metabolism and is used to diagnose and monitor diabetes mellitus.

Preparation for the test

It is recommended to perform the test in the morning on an empty stomach.

The day before the test, avoid fatty and fried foods, alcohol, smoking, and stress.

You may take prescribed medications as usual, but do not take over-the-counter medications without consulting your doctor first. In some cases, your doctor may suggest discontinuing certain medications before the blood test.

Blood tests should not be performed on the same day as an X-ray or physiotherapy procedures.

For dynamic evaluation of a lab test, it should be performed at the same time of day as the previous test.
