Early detection of viral infection is the first step in preventing severe liver damage.
Testing is fast, simple and consists of performing a set of blood tests:
(Anti-HBc) Total hepatitis B core antibodies
(Anti-HBeAg) Antibodies to hepatitis B e antigen
(Anti-HBsAg) Antibodies to hepatitis B surface antigen
(Anti-HCV) Total hepatitis C antibodies
(HBeAg) Hepatitis B e antigen
(HBsAg) Hepatitis B surface antigen
(Anti-HDV total) Total antibodies to hepatitis D
Preparation for the investigation:
- Blood sample collection can be done between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, after a 12-hour fasting period.
- The day before the investigation, exclude: fatty and fried food, alcohol, smoking, and stress.
- Inform the doctor about any medications being taken.
- Performing blood tests on the same day after an X-ray or physiotherapy procedures is not recommended.
- If monitoring through serial testing, samples should be collected at the same time of day as the previous test
Final interpretation is provided by the attending physician or a specialist, considering the patient's medical history and clinical picture
