HLA B27 PCR (Human Leukocyte Antigen, locus B27) is a genetic test used to detect the presence of the HLA B27 gene. This gene is associated with certain autoimmune diseases, such as ankylosing spondylitis (Behterev's disease), reactive arthritis (Reiter's syndrome), juvenile idiopathic arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, inflammatory bowel diseases, and uveitis. Identifying the presence of HLA B27 can help in the early diagnosis and appropriate management of these conditions.

Preparation for blood sample collection:

• It is recommended to perform the test in the morning on an empty stomach (avoid consuming food for at least 8 hours before the test).
• Avoid consuming alcohol and smoking 24 hours before the collection.
• It is important to inform the doctor about any medications you are taking, as they can influence the test results.
• If you are undergoing other medical procedures, such as X-ray, tomography, or physiotherapy, it is advisable to discuss with your doctor the optimal timing for the blood sample collection.

Results are released within 7 working days.
