Serum ionogram is the quantitative determination of essential microelements present in serum: sodium, potassium and chlorine.
These minerals participate in the metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. Variations in their concentrations in the blood can indicate certain disorders and metabolic imbalances in the body.

Preparation for the investigation:
Blood sample collection can be done between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, after a 12-hour fasting period.
- The day before the investigation, exclude: fatty and fried food, alcohol, smoking, and stress.
- Inform the doctor about any medications being taken.
- Performing blood tests on the same day after an X-ray or physiotherapy procedures is not recommended.
*In case of emergency, tests can be collected at any time of the day until 3:00 PM.
