Full Leg Standing X-ray – with film and CD included

At Centrul de Diagnostic German, we perform Full Leg standing X-ray using the new MULTIX Impact X-ray system from Siemens Healthineers, ensuring high-quality images and an accurate diagnosis.

What is a Full Leg Standing X-ray?

This imaging test is used to assess the biomechanical alignment of the lower limbs and detect possible bone abnormalities, deformities, leg length discrepancies, osteoarthritis, or other orthopedic conditions. The examination is performed in a standing position, allowing the physician to analyze the bone structure in its natural posture.

Medical Indications

A Full Leg X-ray is recommended for:
Leg length discrepancies (difference in leg length)
Orthopedic conditions (bone deformities, genu valgum, genu varum)
Postoperative evaluation after knee or hip replacement surgery
Preoperative assessment before orthopedic corrections
Monitoring of joint diseases (osteoarthritis, osteoarthrosis)

How to Prepare for the Exam?

No special preparation is required.

It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing, avoiding zippers or metallic elements in the lower limb area.

Before the test, you may be asked to remove jewelry or metallic objects that could interfere with the X-ray image.

Is a doctor's referral required?
Yes. To perform the Full Leg investigation, a written referral from a medical specialist (orthopedist, rheumatologist, surgeon, etc.) is required. This helps our radiology team tailor the investigation to the patient’s specific clinical needs.
Contraindications

🚫 Pregnancy – X-rays are contraindicated for pregnant women unless absolutely necessary, in which case special protection is used.
🚫 Patients unable to stand – The examination requires a standing position, so it cannot be performed on individuals who cannot maintain this posture.

How the Procedure Works

Duration: approximately 20 minutes
Performed in a standing position, with weight evenly distributed on both legs.
The MULTIX Impact system from Siemens Healthineers captures high-resolution images of the entire lower limb, from hip to ankle.
Results are provided on film and CD for detailed analysis by a specialist.
