Scope of investigation

MRI of pelvis with contrast is indicated for the study of a wide range of diseases of the pelvic organs (prostate, uterus, ovaries, bladder, lymph nodes, etc.). The administration of a contrast substance allows determining the vascularity of the tumor mass; differentiation between a tumor mass and a vascular malformation.

Preparation for investigation

MRI of pelvic organs with contrast requires special preparation, which begins one day before the investigation, with a special diet that excludes hard fiber (cabbage, other vegetables and fruits), carbonated beverages, rye bread, dairy products. 24 hours before the investigation, it is recommended to take: Simeticone 40 mg (Espumisan 40 mg, Balonix Med 80 mg, Flaton 50 mg, Flatulence 80 mg): 2 tablets 3 times a day.
