Price: 1140 MDL
Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies, arterial and/or venous thromboses and repeated miscarriages. It can develop with the same clinical and paraclinical manifestations as a separate disease or associated with other autoimmune diseases. Patients who have one or more antiphospholipid antibodies and those who are diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome have an increased risk of repeated thrombotic episodes, recurrent miscarriages and thrombocytopenia.
The phospholipid syndrome profile contains four types of tests that provide the doctor with exact information about the patient’s condition:
-Anti-Cardiolipin IgG
-Anti-Cardiolipin IgM
-CYC (immunocirculating complex)
-Anti-Phospholipid IgM
Preparation for the investigation:
- Blood sample collection can be done between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, after a 12-hour fasting period.
- The day before the investigation, exclude: fatty and fried food, alcohol, smoking, and stress.
- Inform the doctor about any medications being taken.
- Performing blood tests on the same day after an X-ray or physiotherapy procedures is not recommended.
- If monitoring through serial testing, samples should be collected at the same time of day as the previous test
The result is issued within 7 working days.
Final interpretation is provided by the attending physician or a specialist, considering the patient's medical history and clinical picture.
