Hospitalization for surgery (P1, P2, 12, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 27, 29, 30, 40, 45, 46, 102, 104, 105, 107, 224, 500, 502, 505)

Hospital services are aimed at prevention, treatment, recovery, medical rehabilitation, palliative care, and they include specialized medical consultations, investigations, medical and/or surgical treatments. In case of hospitalization for surgery, patients need to have a set of tests.

The surgical profile comprises several laboratory tests that provide extensive information about the state of the body:

• Complete blood count (19 parameters)
• Urinalysis (20 parameters)
• (ALT) Serum alanine aminotransferase
• (AST) Serum aspartate aminotransferase
• Total bilirubin
• Direct bilirubin
• Indirect bilirubin
• Serum creatinine
• Alkaline phosphatase in serum
• (GGT) G-glutamyl transpeptidase in serum
• Glucose in serum
• Total protein in serum
• Urea in serum (Anti-HBc)
• Total hepatitis B core antibodies (Anti-HBeAg)
• Antibodies to hepatitis B e antigen
• Prothrombin
• Blood group

Preparation for the investigation: 

Blood sample collection can be done between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM, after a 12-hour fasting period.

1. The day before the investigation, exclude: fatty and fried food, alcohol, smoking, and stress.
2. Inform the doctor about any medications being taken.
3. Performing blood tests on the same day after an X-ray or physiotherapy procedures is not recommended.

*In case of emergency, tests can be collected at any time of the day until 3:00 PM.
