384-Slice CT Scan of a Joint (One Anatomical Region) is an advanced imaging examination used to evaluate the bony structures of a joint. It is recommended for patients with trauma, joint pain during movement or at rest, inflammation, and other conditions affecting the joint. The examination can detect dislocations, fractures, joint misalignment, tumors, degenerative changes associated with osteoarthritis, avascular necrosis, and other bone and joint disorders.

What is examined?

The scan assesses the bony structures that form the joint, including fractures, dislocations, fracture healing, deformities, the condition of joint prostheses (following joint replacement surgery), bone lesions or masses, and the alignment and congruity of the joint surfaces.

Preparation for the examination

A 384-Slice CT scan of a joint (one anatomical region) does not require any special preparation. After the examination, patients can immediately resume their normal daily activities without any restrictions.

Computed Tomography (CT) uses X-rays. Therefore, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, this examination can only be performed with a written medical referral.

The physician will assess whether the examination is medically indicated and, if appropriate, will issue the referral required for your CT scan.
