384-slice CT, oncologic protocol (torax+abdomen +pelvis) with contrast

The oncologic workup includes a thorough examination of the organs within the thoracic cavity, abdomen, and pelvis, providing a comprehensive view of any potential disease spread.

Using 384‑slice technology, detailed images are captured in just a few seconds, minimizing patient discomfort.

This investigation is particularly recommended in the following situations:

Initial cancer diagnosis – to determine the extent of disease

Post‑treatment monitoring – to evaluate the effectiveness of chemotherapy or radiotherapy

Recurrence detection – routine follow‑up for patients with prior cancer history

Evaluation of suspicious symptoms – such as abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, persistent cough, etc.

CT scanning is performed using intravenous contrast material to clearly highlight anatomical structures.

Preparation for the examination:

1–2 days before:

• Avoid high‑fiber foods such as cabbage, raw vegetables and fruits, beans, dairy products, and dark bread
• Do not consume carbonated beverages

On the day of the exam:

• The scan is conducted on an empty stomach (do not eat for 3–4 hours prior)
• Inform your doctor if you have allergies (especially to iodine), chronic illnesses, or ongoing treatments

After the exam:

• You may resume daily activities immediately
• Drink fluids to help eliminate the contrast agent

Please bring all relevant medical documents related to the area of concern: postoperative reports, previous exam data such as MRI (films and reports, if available), ultrasound, CT scans.
A referral from your attending physician is required - this information helps the radiologist tailor and optimize the protocol

Computed Tomography (CT) uses X-rays. Therefore, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, this examination can only be performed with a written medical referral.

If you do not have a referral, you can schedule a consultation at the German Diagnostic Center.

The physician will assess whether the examination is medically indicated and, if appropriate, will issue the referral required for your CT scan.
