The neurosurgeon is the doctor specialized in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of conditions in the central and peripheral nervous system.

A patient will usually be referred to a neurosurgeon by other doctors to determine if a neurological problem requires surgery. Neurosurgeons care for patients with injuries or disorders of the brain, spinal cord, spine, and peripheral nerves.

Neurosurgeons perform procedures related to brain surgery, but also the treatment of people suffering from pain in the cervical region, spinal or a number of other diseases of vascular etiology.
