The general ultrasound examination is a complex investigation and is recommended to be performed annually. It can be conducted upon the doctor's recommendation or for prophylactic purposes. It provides an accurate and comprehensive response and does not require deviation from the daily routine. It is painless and non-invasive.

The examination includes: the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and urogenital system.

Preparation for the investigation:

• Children should not eat or drink for 4 hours before the investigation or skip one meal.
• Only still water is allowed; exclude: juices, tea, cocoa, milk.
