The general ultrasound examination is a complex investigation and is recommended to be performed annually. It can be conducted upon the doctor's recommendation or for prophylactic purposes. The examination includes: the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and urinary bladder.

Preparation for the investigation:

• Children should not eat or drink for 4 hours before the investigation or skip one meal.
• Only still water is allowed; exclude: juices, tea, cocoa, milk.
