Fibroscan

FibroScan is a modern, non-invasive and completely painless method used to evaluate liver elasticity and the degree of fibrosis. The procedure uses ultrasound technology and has no side effects, making it ideal for regular monitoring of patients with liver conditions.

The scan measures liver tissue stiffness: the more fibrotic the liver is, the faster the elastic wave travels through it. The device performs multiple measurements, and an average is calculated to accurately assess liver health.

Results are available immediately after the scan, and the procedure can be safely repeated as often as necessary.

Preparation for the procedure:

• Patients must avoid eating or drinking for at least 3 hours prior to the investigation.
• The FibroScan test is contraindicated for pregnant women and patients with active implantable medical devices (e.g., pacemakers).
