About the investigation
MRI enterography is the only diagnostic technique with high accuracy for diseases of the small intestine.
Scope of investigation
The Enterography protocol can help: Diagnose and monitor Crohn's disease and other inflammatory diseases in the small intestine. Early detect complications, benign and malignant tumors, gastrointestinal bleeding, lymphoma, TB, post-radiotherapy lesions.
Preparation for investigation
For MRI enterography, the patient shall come 45-60 minutes before the scheduled time of investigation, with a 1.5 l bottle of plain water. The investigation requires special preparation, which shall begin one day before the investigation with a special diet that excludes hard fiber (cabbage, other vegetables and fruits), carbonated beverages, rye bread, dairy products. 24 hours before the investigation, it is recommended to take: Simeticone 40 mg (Espumisan 40 mg, Balonix Med 80 mg, Flaton 50 mg, Flatulence 80 mg): 2 tablets 3 times a day.
* This is necessary to eliminate excessive bloating.
On the day of the investigation:
- The investigation is performed on an empty stomach - the last meal should be taken not later than 3-4 hours before the start of the investigation.
- Please come 45-60 minutes before the scheduled time of investigation and bring a 1.5 l bottle of plain water. - It is recommended to bring all the medical documents related to the area of interest: postoperative extracts, data of previous investigations, such as MRI (films and conclusions, if any), ultrasound, CT. A referral from the attending physician is welcome. This information is necessary for the imaging doctor to analyze and optimally plan the investigation protocol.
