Vascular Doppler ultrasound

Vascular Doppler ultrasound

cdg

Vascular Doppler is a medical examination of blood vessels, non-invasive and painless, which explores intracardiac and intravascular blood flows. Unlike regular tissue ultrasounds, this type of ultrasound uses the Doppler effect to investigate the vascular, arterial and venous systems. Doppler ultrasound can be useful both for assessing the vascular risk of a particular patient and for diagnosing certain conditions.
A narrowing located in an artery causes an acceleration of blood flow in this place and a decrease in arterial flow downstream of the narrowing. The analysis of curves recorded at different arterial levels (carotid, femoral, etc.) allows knowing precisely the state of the arterial network. In the same way, Doppler recording of venous flow shows any stops or slowing of blood flow caused by the presence of a clot inside the examined vein, in case of phlebitis.
A vascular Doppler ultrasound can help diagnose many conditions, including blood clots, venous insufficiency, heart valve defects and congenital heart disease, decreased blood circulation in the upper and lower limbs for various reasons.
Siemens ultrasound machines of expert class that are available at the German Diagnostic Center enable complex, detailed investigations, and thanks to 3D/4D scanning techniques, the Doppler system, as well as the professionalism of our doctors, every patient may have complete confidence in the diagnosis.
