Endoscopy is the most informative method of examining the organs of the gastrointestinal tract (stomach, intestines). It is performed through gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
At the German Diagnostic Center investigations are performed by endoscopists with regular internships in Europe, using Olympus high resolution video endoscopy system, which corresponds to the highest quality standards and maximum safety conditions.
Gastroscopy examines the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. Thus, the doctor can detect and analyze any inflammatory or ulcerative changes, any source of bleeding or tumor lesions, as well as Helicobacter pylori infection, with sampling for biopsy.
Colonoscopy is the most recommended investigation for the examination of the large intestine (colon). It provides clear images of the colon, from the rectum to the distal part of the small intestine. With its help, the doctor can visualize inflamed tissue, abnormal growths, ulcers, bleeding and muscle spasms. Colonoscopy can also be used to remove polyps and to take tissue samples from suspicious lesions of the mucosa of the large intestine. Thus, colonoscopy is the main method of prevention and detection of colon cancer.
To completely reduce the discomfort caused by the investigation, the procedure will be performed with the administration of a general anesthesia, under the permanent supervision of the anesthesiologist.
According to world statistics, including Moldova, colorectal pathology occupies one of the first places in terms of diseases and deaths caused by cancer among the population. For this reason, the World Health Organization recommends that colonoscopy be performed prophylactically at least once every 3 years after the age of 45!!!
