Obstetrical Ultrasonography
Ultrasonography (ultrasound) is one of the most widely used diagnostic methods, easy to perform, painless and harmless. Since it has no contraindications, ultrasound has become an indispensable method in obstetrics and gynecology. It allows confirming pregnancy and monitoring the intrauterine development of the fetus, visualizing even its movements or the first heartbeat.
For pregnancy, ultrasound is an easy-to-perform, non-invasive method and has no side effects. Numerous studies have shown that ultrasound (even transvaginal ultrasound) is risk-free for both mother and child. Such an ultrasound provides a moving image of the fetus and can sometimes provide more detail than a two-dimensional ultrasound.
Depending on the course of the pregnancy, the doctor may also recommend regular ultrasounds, which may be quite frequent, if there are particularities that need to be monitored at smaller intervals, or rare, if everything goes normally.
Siemens ultrasound machines of expert class that are available at the German Diagnostic Center enable complex, detailed investigations, and thanks to 3D/4D scanning techniques, the Doppler system, as well as the professionalism of our doctors, every patient may have complete confidence in the diagnosis.
